Client Portal
Our Client Portal is a secure online client-lawyer communication portal that allows us to work together from anywhere! And, as a Probate Ally client, you can use our secure portal to communicate with us whenever it's convenient for you, receive status updates, and upload and manage documents from any device – with an easy, secure login.
Submitting Data
Any data submitted via forms on the Probate Ally website is encrypted and secured using industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption. The form data is stored securely in the cloud with Clio, a software company headquartered in British Columbia that is a leader in security features and protocols for the legal industry.
Scheduling Appointments
We use Clio for scheduling appointments; they apply in-transit and at-rest encryption using industry best practices (such as HTTPS and TLS) to ensure your data is stored and transmitted securely. Clio's web interfaces are also verified by DigiCert, a trusted certificate authority.
Secure, Online Payment Processing
We use Clio Payments, secure online credit card software built specifically for law firms. It's an automated and convenient payment solution – both for us and our clients. We understand that your to-do list is long enough, so when it comes to payments, we want to make it easy.
Clio uses the payment industry's most advanced security measures, with bank-grade protection of client data and proactive fraud detection – so we can safely accept online payments. Clio Payments is built to ensure all payments are PCI compliant. The processing, transmission, and storage of card data is handled in a way that meets the highest level of certification available in the payments industry.
So we, and you, can trust that your payment information is safe and secure.
Online Meetings – Video Conferencing
Online meetings are commonly referred to as video meetings, virtual meetings, video conferences, and web conferences.
We use Microsoft Teams as our go-to platform for video meetings. It's the video conferencing platform that the courts in British Columbia use. It's user-friendly and filled with features to make video calls easy. Even if you're not tech savvy, you can join and create calls with just a few clicks.
As businesses depend more and more on video conferencing, Microsoft Teams has become a powerful collaboration tool, perfect for businesses to make their operations more efficient. Through video conferencing and file sharing, Teams simplifies communication and encourages effective teamwork. This allows us to meet, collaborate, and work securely from anywhere. Since Probate Ally operates as a virtual law practice, leveraging technology in this way allows us to work with you remotely – to save you time, our environment, and the hassle of finding parking!
What's required for video conferencing (online meetings)?
As a baseline, you need a computer, laptop, smartphone, iPad or tablet with a webcam (camera), microphone, and speaker function. All modern computers and smart devices have this technology built in. And, you also need internet access.
What are the benefits of online meetings?
We like online meetings because video provides the benefit of being able to see each other's expressions and reactions, in addition to being able to hear what we're each saying. Interacting with one another face-to-face leads to more natural conversation, collaboration, and trust.
Another benefit of online meetings includes the ability to join meetings from nearly anywhere! Whether you're at home, in the office, or out and about, virtual meetings help ensure that you never miss an appointment with us. Being in the same place is no longer required for us to work together. And, we believe that meeting this way builds stronger relationships than just talking on the phone. But rest assured, if you're more comfortable just speaking on the phone, we're just fine with that too.
